please help me i am 14 i weigh 110 and i am 5 feet 2 inches.
I want to make my butt and thighs smaller. I want to do this by summer because i want to look good for the summer. I never want to go swimming with my friends. i want to look good in a bikini because that is what all my friends wear. Please help me i feel so self consious all the time and i want to have a good time with my friends without having to worry about how i look. Please help me. I run 2 miles almost everyday, but i don't know what else to do. Please help me. Also should i tell my mom about how i feel or should i not. I am afraid she will freak out at me. i don't know what to do. Please help. |

You can gain self confidence by changing your thinking. You can make all the outer change that you want but if you don't change the thinking then noting will really change.

Pilates is great to transform bulky muscle into leaner looking muscle. If you are running then you are building muscle which can become bulky looking. Swimming is also great and leads to a slimmer body. I would keep running for the cardio because that is a lot more important than the bikini but look into a different exercise....pilates, swimming.....more aerobic stuff.

running is cardio exercise. it will burn fat only if you keep your heart rate below 135, and the only way to onitor that is to buy a $100 heart rate monitor, or go to the gym and use all the electronic cardio machines like the treadmill, ellyptical, bike, and stairmaster. good luck, and im sure that if u tell your mom how you are feeling, she will understand, as long as you become fit in a healthy responsible way, including eating a balanced diet with fruit, veggies, and protein(eggs, fish, chicken, beef, tofu, etc) and lots of water

Yes talk to your mom.
Then instead of just running do some push ups and sit ups. they need to be 25 a piece and increased by maybe 5-10 every week. do 1 repetition to start with and increase by 1 every week. End up around 4 or 5 do squat jumps every day. 25 and increase how many times you do it. keep it on the same number you do by the push ups and sit ups. You can still eat what you want and drink what you want but this will help you get the fat down to a healthy percentage. ' Run 2 miles a day but increase the pace at which you do it. If you are serious about getting into shape then after you hit the 14 minute per 2 mile then increase the mileage about .5 miles per week. Stop at about 5. try to run the 5 in 45 to 50 minutes at your peak or 2 weeks after you hit 5 miles. |

i don't see why your mom would freak out, unless she's just like that, but it's always good to honest with your parents.
if you mean smaller like slimmer, toned and tightened, then the best things for you are lunges and squats. i can't properly explain how to do them but if you search them on the internet you can find good instuctions. good luck! |

well i think u should converse with your mom and maybe she'll help you out with your diet which will go totally well with the two miles you are running... just dont try any of those diet pills k? there are consequences... anyways as to gainin ur self confidence if ur mom understands, then u will start realizing a change to your life eating habits and figure--- just like me... mwwwaahh! GOOD LUCK! =)

You are thinking/worrying too much.
You are not going to lose pounds when you are CONSTANTLY thinking about losing weight losing weight losing weight. that's sickly actually. sooo you need to REEELLLLLAAAAX (i wish YA had itallics.. i'm not screaming at you.. it's emphasis) just let it go about it because you are not that bad and change your way of thinking be positive and happy as you workout .. no diets.. but eat healthy avoid mirrors for the whole day! do something! i'm sure you have tons of support! you go girl~ |

Talk to yur mom bcuz it sounds like u are going through peer pressure. Man, screw bikinis wear what ever thing you want in the pool! like shorts. Talk to your mom or go to your doctor or a counselor to talk about why u r thinkingthis way, your mom may brush it off in a good way thinking this is a phase which it probably is, but I believe she will listen to u and give sound advice since she was your age onece you know.....good luck and don't stay quiet about it , plz. Stop comparing yourseld to other girls!!! If you run two miles in a day I hope u are part of sport or health program and not doing it on your own just to lose weight. If u think u need to loose weight you absolutely must go to your doctor first to find out and get a meal plan if that be the case, its for your own good and health.
