Which self-help books would you recommend for dealing with various issues: depression,self-esteem,anxiety,abuse,etc. Or which one has helped you the most?

I think M Scott Peck's "The Road Less Travelled" is brilliant for gaining understanding of various aspects, particularly about what love is and is not, in a deep way.

I also think Susie Orbach's "What's Really Going On Here?" is excellent, concerning lots of issues including anger, stress, jealousy; all were covered in the articles she wrote for the Guardian, which this book brings together.

Kim McMillen "When I Loved Myself Enough" is excellent regarding self-esteem and how its lack impacts.

If you put things off and find it hard to get on with life, Andrea Perry's "Isn't It About Time?" is brilliant.

And finally - for real self-help, seriously helping yourself to get through things and find a way to be more fully yourself, I cannot praise enough Julia Cameron's "The Artist's Way".

    Self Help Books Recommendation:

    1. The Secret
You would want to consider reading The Secret because it will share with you why you are experiencing certain challenges in your life. Read it with an open mind and it will make sense. If you could get access to the DVD, it will be even better.

    2. Unlimited Power
This book would be handy specifically for self esteem.

Low and behold, I would like to share a little of what I know, I came across the concept of Johari's Window.

    What is means is this:

There are 4 quadrants to it.

    1. "known to self" + "known to others"
Meaning what you and other people know about you.

    2. "know to self" + "not known to others"
These are all the secrets that only you know.

    3. "not known to self" + "not known to others"
This is your latent abilities that have not been
    realised yet.

    4. And I would like to draw you to this final quadrant about
"not known to self" + "known to others". Sometimes we just missed the blindspots in our own life =)

I hope what I have shared have served you well, do let me know if you have found this useful and books are great resources and what's important to apply whats being taught.

Cheers, I run a self help motivation site, I would like you to be my guest.

    Take care!

I would like to recommend Dr. Keith Ablow's Living the Truth. It offers amazing insight and really helped me out when I was falling apart. Since then, I've never had to look back.
Go to the book's website livingthetruth.com for more information. I hope it helps others as much as it helped me.
